Editorial link building on sites with real audiences
Link building is part of our SEO work. Northlink Selections was founded by an SEO with more than a decade of hands-on SEO and link building. The method is simple: real sites, relevant content, links placed where a reader would expect them, and a report you can check line by line.
Where placements come from
Placements are built on the founder's long-standing relationships with publishers: established sites built for readers, with their own organic traffic and a clear topic.
What we use
- Real sites with real, organic search traffic
- Topical relevance to the page we are linking to
- Links inside the body of an article, in editorial context
- Content written to stand on its own for the host site's readers
- Sites in the language and market you are targeting
What we don't
- Private blog networks (PBNs)
- Link farms
- Sites with no audience of their own
- Sitewide, footer or sidebar links
- Automated, spun or mass-produced content
- Comment, forum or profile spam
How each site is vetted
A site has to pass a manual review before we use it. Metrics are a starting point, not a verdict. We look at the site the way a search engine and a reader would.
Traffic trend
Whether the site earns organic traffic, and which way it is moving over time. A single snapshot can hide a site in decline.
Relevance
Whether the site's topic and audience fit your page. A relevant site with modest numbers often beats a big site that is off-topic.
Outbound-link hygiene
How many sites it links out to, and what kind. Sites that link to anyone, about anything, are left out.
Indexation
Whether the site and its recent articles are indexed. If new content on a site is not being indexed, a link there is worth little.
Content quality
Whether the site publishes real editorial content with an audience in mind, or mostly sponsored posts.
Market fit
Whether the site's language and readership match the country and audience you are trying to reach.
Anchor text, planned
Anchor text is where most link-building risk comes from. Before the first placement we look at your existing link profile and agree a plan with you:
- Which pages to build links to, and in what order
- A natural mix of branded, URL, generic and descriptive anchors
- A steady pace that fits your site's current profile
When a placement changes
Sites get redesigned, sold or restructured, and sometimes a link goes with them. If a placement goes down, we work with you to replace it.
We would rather spend time on vetting up front than on replacements later. That is the point of the checks above.
Monthly reporting you can check
You get a live shared sheet that lists every placement. It is yours to check at any time, not a PDF that arrives at the end of the month. Each row includes:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Live URL | The exact page on the host site where your link sits |
| Target URL and anchor | Which of your pages it points to, and the anchor text used |
| Metrics at placement | Organic-traffic estimate on the day the link went live. |
| Date live | When the placement was published |
| Indexation status | Whether the page with your link is indexed |
Competitive niches, including iGaming
We build links in competitive niches, including iGaming.
These are niches where fewer sites accept the topic, more of the sites that accept the topic have no audience of their own, and a poor placement costs more. The work is the same as everywhere else, only stricter: sites that openly accept the topic, content that suits the host site and its market, and the same vetting before anything goes live.
How engagements work
Link building runs as a monthly programme, scoped per project. The scope covers your target pages, markets and languages, the kind of sites that fit, and the pace that suits your site.
Pricing depends on the niche and the sites involved, so we quote after a short conversation rather than publish a rate card. You get the scope in writing before any work starts.
Questions we are often asked
Do you use private blog networks (PBNs)?
No. We place links on real sites with their own audiences and organic traffic. We don't use PBNs, link farms, or sitewide and footer links.
What do you check before using a site?
Organic traffic and its trend over time, topical relevance, outbound-link hygiene, indexation, content quality and fit with your target market. Each site gets a manual review, not just a metrics filter.
Do you guarantee rankings or specific metrics?
No. Rankings depend on many things outside any agency's control, and anyone who guarantees them is guessing. What we control is the quality of the sites, the relevance of the placements and the honesty of the reporting.
Do you work with iGaming brands?
Yes. We build links in competitive niches, including iGaming, using sites that openly accept the topic and the same vetting we apply everywhere else.
What happens if a link is removed?
Sites change over time. If a placement goes down, we work with you to replace it.
How is pricing set?
Each link programme is scoped per project and billed monthly. Pricing depends on the niche, the markets and the sites involved, so we quote after a short conversation.
